GOD’S FAVORITE
A Jack Russell Terrier he would choose,
Living life without anything to lose,
Unending loyalty, most you’ve ever seen,
Born with smell so wildly keen.
Able to track an animal 500 yards away,
And yet never leave when told to stay.
And when the day has come to a close,
You’ll find it beside you, nose to nose.
Tireless kisses come your way,
At Every sunrise, every day.
Pausing for a cheerful bark, dancing in the way,
As if to say, C’mon, C’mon we gotta play.
Full of joy and love abounding,
Never still, with leaps so astounding
.
Courage so bold and fear unabated,
Rushing right in and never waiting.
This pattern is woven all through your life.
Till the day comes, with final strife.
There are no answers, just the fact,
You were blessed to have a Jack.
