A Witch

Embracing the Elementals
I am a witch
I stand on a cliff,
At the edge of the sea.
The wnd howls,
Lightning sears the air,
Waves crash against the rocks,
Torrents of rain pour down.
I do not fear the fury of the elements
I embrace them
And surrender....
My voice is torn away by the gale winds.
Air fills my lungs and is sucked away again
My chakras open, my mind is clear
I hear the ageless voices whispering their wisdom I am inspired
I breathe, I suffocate, I am enlightened I am the Air.
Lightning flashes all around me.
I am blinded, yet I see the truth.
The Sacred Fire of Life burns within me, My gift from the Lady and the Lord.
Fire consumes me
I am engulfed, transformed, and reborn.
I am the Fire.
Waves crash over me,
I am swept away.
Pulled to the floor of the sea, from the waters of our Mother's womb was I born.
Her tides ebb and rage through my veins, through my being.
I am submerged, drowned, refreshed.
I am the Water.
I am crushed to the rocks, by the rocks.
Buried beneath the earth,
I feel all her pain, her wounds.
Overwhelmed by the ageless wisdom,
The patience and longing.
I am twisted, cracked, rejuvenated.
I am the Earth.
I lay down my body in surrender to the elementals. Yet I conquer.
I arise victorious, stronger thean before. Wiser then before.
My spirit soars, I am a raw force of nature, wielding the power of the elements
I am the Lady. I am the Lord.
I am the Universe.
I am Magic.
I am a Witch.

The Thinning Of The Veil

by Jojovits1
Artist Iman Maleki
I wonder if you know about
the thinning of the veil?
Some say it’s just for Halloween,
a ghostly, Old Wives’ Tale.
I hope it is a place to meet
between your world and mine.
For me, to be a child again.
A chance to turn back time.
I may have missed you touch my hair
and tuck my quilt in tight.
Perhaps you just peeked through the door
to whisper “Love, goodnight”.
If you could come back once a year
I know you wouldn’t fail.
So, I wonder if you know
about the thinning of the veil?
A meeting place of memory
where love will always flow.
I fell asleep and waited but
I guess you didn’t know.
I pray that I will hear you
whisper to me once again.
The veil will thin once more next year
so I can wait ‘til then.

Happy Halloween

"I wish I could comfort all who suffer from the heart. Will you let me be your friend, and will you come to me for comfort if you need it?"

~ Bram Stoker, Dracula

"Could you look, sir, into my heart, you would approve to the full the sentiments which animate me. Nay, more, you would count me amongst the best and truest of your friends."
~ Bram Stoker, Dracula

Goodbye

"The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected. Maybe they always have been and will be. Maybe we've lived a thousand lives before this one and in each of them we've found each other. And maybe each time, we've been forced apart for the same reasons. That means that this goodbye is both a goodbye for the past ten thousand years and a prelude to what will come."
~ Nicholas Sparks

"I will not be gone from you entirely... When you fight now, I will be still by you. When you walk in the world, I will be the light at your side, the ground steady under your feet, the force that drives the sword in your hand."
~ Cassandra Clare

Tales of the old forest faeries

🍂Upon Samhain eve🍂
“Whence the Ether, the still space that is between us and them is no longer still”
🕯As midnight falls upon us tonight, the veil between our world and the other worlds, shall be at its thinnest until midnight the 1st of November.
🕯If you be a sensitive soul, be careful how you go, as the celestial beings and the old souls draw nearer over Samhain. You may just know them to be near, or you may just see something in the flicker of a light.
🍂Tis a time to bid them well, as they shall have this day and we’re best to leave them be and steer well away🍂

The History of Wales

Guto Nyth Brân.
Griffith Morgan (1700–1737), - “the fastest man of his time”, known better as Guto Nyth Brân is thought to have been born on 26th October 1700, at Nyth Brân farm in Llwyncelyn, a small village, near Porth.
It was said that Guto's speed was first noticed when he managed to catch a wild hare. Another legend has it that he could run the 7 miles, to the local town of Pontypridd and back home again, before his mother's kettle had boiled.
Seeing his potential the local shopkeeper, Siân o'r Siop (Siân from the Shop), became his trainer and manager and organised a race on Hirwaun Common against an unbeaten English Captain, for a £400 prize. Guto won the race won easily and kept on winning, remaining unbeaten until he was 30. Over the years, Guto and Sian had fallen in love and Guto decided to retire to enjoy a quiet life with Sian.
However in 1737, a new champion runner had emerged, called the 'Prince of Bedwas' and Sian persuaded Guto to have one last race against Prince, for a prize of 1000 guineas. The race was over the 12 miles from Newport to Bedwas and was a very even contest. Nearing the finish, Prince held a slender lead, however, one last lung bursting effort from Guto saw him cross the line first. However in the celebrations after, Guto collapsed and died in Sian's arms.
In memory of Guto, the Ras Nos Galan is run every year on New Years Eve at Mountain Ash, over the course of Guto's first ever race. It has become a tradition of this race for a mystery runner to compete and over the years, this has included Iwan Thomas, Linford Christie and Alun Wyn Jones. At the conclusion of the race, a wreath is then placed on Guto's grave in Llanwynno graveyard. There is also a commemorative statue of Guto in Mountain Ash.

THERE WILL BE SOME VERY PAINFUL MOMENTS IN YOUR LIFE

There will be some very painful moments in your life my friend.

There will be moments, days even,
when the sun doesn’t seem to rise in your sky
and the breath feels sucked right out of your lungs.
When food has no taste, the world has no joy
and everything seems like an effort too far.
Yes, my friend, there will be very painful moments in your life.
But you will get through them,
‘This too shall pass.’
Because life has a way of throwing you a rope,
just at the very moment when you thought,
you couldn’t swim another stroke.
All you have to do is grab it.
And one day, as is the way of this life,
the sun will suddenly beat down on your face again
and the air will feel fresher than it ever did.
And there will be laughter.
And love.
And joy.
So much joy.
And life will be sweet, like summer after a long winter.
A winter that was so dark each colour that appears,
feels like the first time you are seeing it.
This is when you must live, really live.
For, just as the bad times do not last forever,
neither do the good,
‘This too shall pass.’
But that is life.
So, embrace the joy when it comes and let fear slide away.
And when the dark times come around again,
and they will,
remember you have what you need to survive.
And you will survive my friend, you really will.
Keep the important people close,
focus on what truly matters
and you will find yourself dragged to safety,
each and every time the storms come.
And on those days,
when your sun is high in the sky
but you notice another facing bad weather,
you drop your raft and you go to them.
And if they won’t climb in with you, to safety,
you simply stay with them in the stormy water,
till the sun rises again.
And it will.
it always does.
