Best Homemade Chocolate Sauce is better than any store-bought chocolate sauce! Store in the refrigerator and serve over ice cream sundaes or chocolate cake!
BEST Homemade Chocolate Sauce

HOW DO YOU MAKE HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE SAUCE?

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup buttermelted
  • 2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 can 6 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Using a small saucepan, add together melted butter and chocolate and cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Stir in evaporated milk.
  3. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened; stir in vanilla.
  4. Cool completely, about 2 hours.
  5. Use right away (warm), or cover and refrigerate the sauce.

HOW LONG DOES HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE SAUCE LAST?

Homemade chocolate syrup has a shorter shelf life than store-bought, so I usually just keep my recipe in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

CAN YOU REHEAT CHOCOLATE SAUCE?

To reheat the sauce you can warm on the stovetop in a saucepan for about 5 minutes on low heat, stirring regularly. Or, microwave for about 15 seconds at a time until hot.

  1. I meant : you don't think it will survive long enough to store? I'd eat it straight away 😊
