Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

It has been 70 years since the publication of one of the most thought-provoking science fiction books of all time. Ray Bradbury's 'Fahrenheit 451' has always retained its relevance. This classic remains even more pertinent in this disheartening age of book banning.

Speculative fiction serves as a lens to examine the present from a different perspective. Let's celebrate its publication by reading (or rereading) this dystopian classic that explores the power of books and critical thinking.

A Fireproof Edition

Cover of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

The first U.S. printing was a paperback version released in October 1953 by The Ballantine Publishing Group. Shortly after, a hardback version was published, which included a special edition limited to 200 signed and numbered copies. This unique edition was bound in asbestos, a material chosen in case the novel turned out to be prophetic, as it wouldn't burn. Consequently, it holds particular appeal for collectors due to its charmingly literal interpretation of the novel.
