1. Laverstock Shepherd’s Hut, Dorset

Greeting you on arrival in the cute Shepherd’s Hut, you’ll find a cosy bed and comfy furnishings with Laverstock’s own apple juice, fresh baked cake and eggs if the hens are laying. Pile into the spacious Horsebox with its kooky red leather chesterfield and reclaimed oak flooring for a fun-filled weekend. Take your time to explore the delights of the local area including the huge Sunday market, Greville’s mordern art collection and the glorious coastal scenery. The owners have a dog on site that often says hello and pooches love splashing about in the lake just below the wagon.

11. Shepherd’s Delight, Devon

We just couldn’t resist slipping this last one in – tucked away in the beautiful Devonshire countryside with it’s own private lake, this Shepherd’s Hut  is the ultimate in blissful seclusion. Spend an afternoon rowing around the lake and try your hand at spot of fishing then unwind the evening with a BBQ and a glass of wine on the deck. Best of all, guests have exclusive occupancy of the site so it really is your own little slice of heaven. Fido will also be spoilt for choice with 60 acres to explore – although beware as there are some other inhabitants including alpacas, heifers, horses and a friendly goat.
Price: From £130.00 for 2 nights + £4.00 surcharge for pets (two dogs maximum due to limited space in the hut)
