The Autumn Equinox
Here I stand on the solid earth, may air blow around me
May water cleanse me and may fire inspire my mind
I am alive with the spirit of my ancestors and I am one with the land
Ancient one of these golden shores, silver tongues of the honey isle
I call to you through the passage of time, you whose words are within the breeze
Upon the hill and carved in stones that lay solemn on desolate moor
Druids of another age I hear your teachings as whispers through the wild woods
As the Sun finally gives way to darkness we must bow once more to domain of winter
Summer has now ended and with it we reap the abundance of the second harvest
Fruits, berries and nuts festoon the land and soon the frosts will come biting hard at bones
But we stand and remember the old ones
This is a time of merriment and cheer, when the songs should be sung in the praise of he who head is ablaze with fire
Be sharp of wit and let Awen fill you, for this is a time when the world once more turns and we dance on the silver wheel
Sit for a few moments in silent contemplation
We are but glimpses within the dream of creation, awake now to the light that spills from the darkness of potential
Never fear, the path of Awen is never won easy; many suffer before tasting its sweet nectar
But once savored it will fill us with a song so sweet that no being cannot listen to its sublime melodies
For it is the music of the soul that connects all beings to the eternal source
I dedicate my path to the service of others
May my deeds always help those who suffer
May my words always help to illuminate those who are in darkness
For my path is a path of light
And by walking it I begin a journey into the very heart of creation
Hail to the seasons that turn
All is forever in motion
May the Earth be of support to these teachings
May the Air carry these teachings far and wide
May fire burn bright in the head of all those who read these words
May water heal and restore all those who are in need
