“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.” ~ Brené Brown
When Messy Truth Happens.
I no longer
taste the salt
of my tears
when I crave
the Truth
of the sea.
So I jump in
the ocean
wearing all of my clothes
and laugh with the
seagulls
who seem to say
that clothes
are optional anyway.
So I strip—
removing the
layers of my
former self.
And that’s where
I exist today.
Naked.
In-between the crash
of waves that break
without apology.
Swimming with the
rhythm of the
moon’s essence
feeling the
Divine presence
of shifts
I can’t see.
I swim in tides
that take me
away from
being flawless.
Aware that
messy Truth
happens
when life is
lived lawless.
In a world
that dictates
how to be,
I surrender.
I live on
in salt
that breathes
in the
sea.
taste the salt
of my tears
when I crave
the Truth
of the sea.
So I jump in
the ocean
wearing all of my clothes
