I've found the recipe in Delia Smith's Frugal Foog cookbook. She in tern found it in the Evening Stanard in 1940. Popular due to the cake not containing any sugar.
Ingredients
3oz Butter
Half a tin of Condensed Milk
2 eggs
6oz SR Flour
Sultanas
Ring of an orange
1 Tablespoon of orange juice
Line or grease appropriate tin.
Whisk butter until light and add condensed milk and whisk again.
Add eggs whilst whisking.
Fold in sifted flour, ring, juice and sultanas
Bake fan 150 for 30 - 40 mins
I have a hot oven so after 25 mins I check every 5 mins.
Top with icing sugar and orange juice drizzle.
