And you think we've had a washout! Incredible pictures show people on a beach as menacing cloud formation heads to shore
|The British summer may have been a bit of a wash-out, but anyone who has made it to a beach haven't been hit with anything like this.
These are the incredible photos which show a huge storm that forced beach-goers in Russia to flee inside - as huge cloud formations dominated the beach - creating a scene that looks like the end of the world.
The sky blackens as huge streams of rain pour down onto the sea - while in another picture, the clouds form what looks like a huge hand, reaching out of the sky.
Looming: the sky turns black and rain pours into
the sea. The approaching storm quickly emptied the beach as swimmers
fled and hid in the cafe
It's you: swimmers saw what looked like a giant hand appear in the cloud formation, and fled as quickly as they could
Fury in the clouds: 'It was really scary even
for me - a person who works in the sea and knows it well,' said
photographer Oleg Ivanov, who works as a ship's mechanic
Oleg, 59, who works as a ship's mechanic, said: 'I live near the sea, work in the sea and photograph the sea, but I have never seen a storm as terrifying as this before.
'The clouds were so unusual, and people were starting to get worried.
'People in Baltiysk are not spoilt with good sunny weather, and they are used to big storms coming all the time.
'They usually just stay on the beaches in the rain, and some will swim even during the storm - but on this occasion, everyone took shelter inside.
'As a photographer, I couldn't bring myself to leave the beach when there were such amazing pictures to be taken.
Just a couple of clouds? Frequent visitors to
the Baltiysk beach are no stranger to rain and storms but these ones
seemed a 'so unusual' and people started to get worried
Otherworldly: the bizarre and dramatic storm was over as quickly as it had begun
'It was really scary even for me - a person who works in the sea and knows it well.
'But this time the wind was extremely strong and the heaviest rain I remember. People hid in the summer cafe.
'There was a feeling that this shelter wouldn't save us - but the rain stopped suddenly like there was no rain at all, and it was over as quickly as it had begun.
'It was quite a frightening experience, but I am really happy I was there and could take these shots.'
