All Hallows Gothic Night-Reading
When: 10:00 on the 01st of Nov 2013
Location: Gladstone's Library
Description:
Friday 1st November 10:00pm - Midnight
There's something altogether not right in the vaults of Gladstone's Library. It's rapping at the windows and scratching at the walls and, on the eve of Friday 1st November, we're unlatching the locks, throwing the doors open and letting it out.For one night only, experience the Library at night as we invite you to a Victorian compendium of Gothic and mystery straight from our shelves. We've dusted the statues, cobwebbed the staircases and locked the Portrait in the attic.
Either sit down and enjoy or hide and squirm behind bookshelves. You can even get involved yourself. We'd love for you to share 200-300 words of your favourite Victorian Gothic. Join us, if you dare, in the Library for a night of sensationalist horror, mystery and good old-fashioned gothic. Go on...We've always been here, waiting in the dark.
Tickets for this event are £5 and include a complementary glass of Hendrick's with tonic and a dash of cranberry juice.
To request or suggest a reading please call or email Louisa on 01244 532350 or at louisa.yates@gladlib.org.
Lit only by desk lamps.
