For Halloween… “A GHOST AT GWAENYSGOR
The residents of the quiet little village of Gwaenysgor have been thrown into a state of great excitement over the report that a ghost has made its appearance in one of the farm-houses near the village. Rumour says that this supernatural being made its headquarters at Ty Isa Farm, occupied by Mr Robert Jones, and of course makes its appearance at the ghostly hour of midnight. The ghost, it is said, comes in the form of a dog, and lies quietly on the floor, but the moment any one attempts to touch it, it vanishes in a most mysterious fashion, and its departure is accompanied by a ringing of bells, and other things necessary to make the story complete. Several, it is stated, have seen the ghost, and the excitement caused by its visit continues.”

Hi, I've just come across this after years of telling my one and only ghost story. Way back in my teenage years, driving my then girlfriend from holywell to rhyl to watch a film, we took a shortcut via gwaenysgor. Only to find the road blocked by a what looked like a large bag of rags. Getting out of the car to romove the bag, the bag rose from the road, resembling a large man or tall animal.Completely black, apart from red/orange eyes, it slammed its hands/hooves onto my bonnet and then leapt over the nearby hedges. Anyone who knows the hedgerows on the road here would know that they over 7 foot tall. Obviously, as you would guess, we may have let out a squeak or too and qiuckly left. The most wierdest part though is that i just read the original news artical in the 1800's and noticed the date. 3rd December. We were on our way to watch the original disney Aladdin, on the 3rd of december 1992.
